Celebrity Shootout in Phoenix

Chris Brown and Common and many others teamed up to play ball at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, AZ. Not enough Frankie Muniz footage tho, I wanted to see more of what he could do, kid is nasty with the rock. haha

Burst

This beat is called Burst, for what reason, I don't know... The "Oh" is from You Send Me. (I know I used it twice.) This rest is all by hand. I used some help from Jacob aka ThugJCrack. This shit could be hot... I need to fuck around with the drums some more

but here is draft #1.

PREMO!

Hypetrak interviewed the legend, DJ Premier yesterday. Fantastic interview with the best producer of all time.
Here's something that caught my attention:

You’re renowned for having your trademark “Premier” sound, is it something you can put into words as to how it’s so different from everyone else?

Once I was given the chance to showcase my style, I’m from the era from when you had to be original. Like KRS-One said, “You gotta have style and learn to be original and everybody’s gonna wanna diss you, like me we stood up for the South Bronx, and every sucker emcee had a response, you think we care, I know that they they’re on the tip, my posse from the Bronx is thick!” That was my…not was, that’s still my mentality, you think I give a god damn, nah. I read a comment just recently when I was defending Drake and J.Cole for being younger guys that have some lyrics, because that’s what it’s about. PERIOD. If you can make simple rhymes and your record is dope then you can’t front on it, look at top billing for example. It’s the same thing with hip hop. It’s a competition for me, so when I talk about J. Cole and Drake and all of them, yea they got rhymes, and I know their levels of rhymes are going to be limited because they’re not old enough to know what I know and just don’t have the same level of experience. They missed the 80’s, which were overshadowed by real killings and real violence.

Bright Lights

This beat is called Bright Lights...

It's another beat I did in a small amount of time, so it's not that well detailed, but it's a work in progress...

No sample for this.

Home

This beat is called Home...

I sampled You Send Me by Sam Cooke and the strings come from a rendition of Eleanor Rigby by Ray Charles.

This beat is kinda choppy and is nowhere near done but I thought I would throw it on here.

Big Boi for the NFL

Best add in a while. Big Boi collaborates with Pepsi and the NFL and re-records General Patton for the Eagles Packers game on Sunday. Got me even more hype for my Eagles.

Just made me realize that I literally cannot wait for the next Outkast project. I need that...

Pure Imagination

This beat is called Pure Imagination and it's sampling a song with that same title performed by Lou Rawls. The original is sung by Gene Wilder (as Willy Wonka) in the 1970's version of Charlie and Chocolate Factory. This jazz version by Rawls is amazing on its own so I didn't want to harm the song by sampling it but the beat turned out well nonetheless.

Shoutout to the Homie Fries, tellin me to make this beat a minute ago....

R Les

So I've just been listening to him so much lately. Especially cus Fab's You Be Killin Em shit is one of those songs that they play on the radio 400 times a day. Ryan Leslie is one of the more talented musicians of our generation of not the most. The dude can do everything.

These videos are just a couple of reasons why Ryan Leslie is my idol.

mad as fuck we never saw this collabo

wow.

he literally took a simple beat, and made it into a fucking symphony off pure instinct, where do u learn to do this?

SHEESH

I need to see more Ryan Leslie music out, and he needs to more get buzz, seriously.... his energy and passion for music really doesn't come around very often.
